Tsuji Riichi Honten had long been cautious about expanding overseas, despite the growing global popularity of matcha over the past ten-plus years, due to concerns about quality degradation during long-distance shipping. However, the recent development of international e-commerce and improvements in international delivery systems have addressed these concerns, paving the way for a new supply system for matcha.
As a recent entrant into the global market, we leverage these new systems to their fullest potential, offering not only traditional bulk exports but also efficient, fast, and flexible small-lot production and delivery. This allows us to bring freshly ground matcha directly from our factory in Kyoto to customers around the world in approximately one week from the time you place your order.
Through our global sales platform, MATCHA DIRECT, we offer shipments starting from a single 60g unit for individual customers and 300g+ for business users to over 40 countries worldwide.

This concept of “Shuhari” was taught by Sen no Rikyu. At Tsuji Riichi Honten, while preserving traditional manufacturing methods, we also explore new possibilities for tea that transcend conventional forms. Recently, we’ve developed and expanded our offerings to include products like decaf matcha and soluble matcha in response to customer needs.
